Man Down!

Yesterday for Father's Day my parents, John, Ebi and I went up into the High Uintahs for a hike, a picnic, and a wheelin' session... little did we know that two of us would also go for a swim!

John and I went on an hour ride on the wheeler, when we got back to base camp we pulled up by my dad's truck and noticed something shocking and surprising! There was a pair of men's underwear hanging from the rear view mirror of the truck. John looked at me and said, "I wonder what we missed?"

As we climbed off the wheeler and walked past the truck we noticed that not only were there underwear, but there were also shorts and socks and a shirt... "what happened?" I exclaimed as we hustled to camp for what I was sure would be a great story.

When we hiked down the flat rocks to the river and to camp, we noticed that my dad was in different clothes and Ebi was soaking wet.. "what happened to you two dad?" My mom burst out laughing!!

Aparently My dad and Ebi were trying to cross the river (dad was carrying her) when my dad stepped into a deep river hole and both him and Ebi went down and got fully submerged in the river. Ebi paddled and swam out, but my dad was stuck, his elbow was jammed in between two rocks! "the Cameras! The Cameras" he yelled as he tried to get up!

My mom, now temporarily blind from laughter of witnessing such a scene, yelled "are you headed down stream?"

My dad finally got unstuck and with his pride a little rattled and his clothes soaked to the bone, marched squishly out of the water!!

Everyone was fine, A scraped elbow, a sore tailbone, a heap of wet clothes and a wet pug. The only two consequences of the fall was 1. the death of one of the cameras. My dad's. Mom's camera was ok, and 2. that I didn't get to be there to witness it! Maybe next time!!

Poor dad! An hour after the "incident," he finally thought it was funny and had a good laugh!! My mom has continued to laugh about it since!!

*You probably should know that we are somewhat of an accident prone family. Not always graceful or keeping an eye out for deep river holes, one of the many good things about our family is that no matter how many times you spill something on you, knock something over, trip, fall down, break something or fall into a river, there is always someone nearby to laugh at you. Keeps a person humble!

As they say (whoever "they" is), 'laughter is the best medicine' and let's just say our family is in VERY good health!!

Hope you had a happy father's day anyway dad! We love you!!
